On Saturday August 28, 2010 and Sunday August 29, 2010 in conjunction with the S.S. Willis B. Boyer Museum Ship and Ramsey Brothers Restorations the fourth annual Toledo Antique & Classic Boat Show will take place at the Toledo Maritime Center, 1701 Front Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605. The show will take place from 9:00am until 5:00pm on Saturday and 9:00am until 3:00pm on Sunday.
This event is for boating enthusiasts of all ages to come and enjoy a day of re-living maritime history on the Great Lakes. There will be many boats displayed on land and in the water ranging from the 1920’s era through the modern day replica. This year’s show is featuring the Diamond Belle, vintage hydroplanes, an expanded marine mart, and hopefully a third appearance of Miss America X.
The Diamond Belle will be arriving carrying passengers from Detroit to visit the show. Miss America X was raced by Gar Wood and in 1932 broke the world water speed record at 124.91 mph. This boat is powered by four V-12 Packard engines and is 38 feet in length.
Many classic and antique cars of all makes and models from throughout the years will be shown as well. Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of Dixieland will be performing live Dixieland Jazz from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday. Other live music performances will take place during the show as well.
The show also features a Marine Mart with items for sale, historical displays, models, and artwork. Food vendors will also be on site.
Admission is $3.00 per person per day (children 10 and younger are free). Not only does the admission allow the Toledo community to view these great maritime artifacts but also includes admission to the S.S. Willis B. Boyer Museum Ship. Free trolley service will be available between the S.S. Willis B. Boyer Museum Ship and the Toledo Skyway Marina.
If you are choosing to participate in the show for the weekend, we would love to have you! We again will have the welcome party on Friday and this year we are adding a Mid-Show Clambake on Saturday and a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday. Specific details are located on the registration forms. Please go to the registration page and take the time to register your boat, car, or vendor space.
If you are choosing to stay the night on your boat, the Toledo Skyway Marina is an excellent place to do that. This venue features shower and laundry facilities as well as shore power and water. Overnight security will be provided as well on Friday and Saturday night. Early set up for pre-registered participants is available after 12:00 p.m. on Friday August 27th.
Thank you for stopping by our site and we look forward to seeing you in the end of August!
